Frequently asked questions
Straight answers about how Deavo works.
- Is Deavo really free?
- Yes — 100% free in v1. No listing fees, no buyer fees, no success fees, and no paywalls. We’re building the marketplace first.
- Is Deavo a business broker?
- No. Deavo is an advertising and listings platform. We never represent either party in a transaction or take a success fee. Traditional brokers are partners, not competitors.
- How does the NDA work?
- Our NDA is click-to-sign (clickwrap) — legally equivalent to a full electronic signature in Canada. We log the IP and timestamp and email a signed certificate to both parties. Full details unlock only after the seller approves your request.
- Will my business stay confidential if I list it?
- Yes. Listings are blind by default — your business name and exact address are never shown publicly. Buyers see a teaser and generic industry data until you approve their access.
- What is the intelligence panel and value range?
- A generic, industry-benchmark overview (margins, growth, market size, recession sensitivity) from StatCan/ISED data, plus a conservative valuation estimate range. It is never an appraisal or a claim about the specific business — always confirm with a professional.
- How does the AI screening work?
- Every published listing is screened by AI for scam and plausibility signals. Flags are private to our operators, who review them. It runs quietly in the background — sellers aren’t labelled.
- I found my business listed by someone else — what do I do?
- Some listings are sourced from public advertisements and marked “unclaimed.” If it’s yours, use “Claim your listing” to take ownership with a free account.
- Which businesses are on Deavo?
- Small and medium Canadian businesses, including the micro/main-street segment. Supply comes from public sellers, brokers, and sourced listings.
