How do I transfer my affiliate site’s partner accounts to a buyer?

Check each program’s terms before you promise anything, then ask each partner how an ownership change is handled. Some will change the account holder, some will ask the buyer to apply fresh, and some will not agree. Plan the order and timing so payments do not stall.

Make a table of every program you earn from. Next to each, record the account name, the email on file, how you are paid, the payment account, and the date you joined. Then read each program’s terms about transfers, and note anything that says the account cannot be assigned or must be approved. If a program refuses, ask whether the buyer could join as a new member and what would happen to the links already on the site.

Contact the partners, with the buyer’s agreement, to ask what they need. It may be a form, a new application by the buyer, or proof of the sale. Ask whether the earned but unpaid balance moves along with the account, and whether the buyer’s tracking links will stay active in the meantime. Write down each program’s login, support contact and any one-time codes, and store them securely until the day of transfer.

Be careful with email and payment details. If accounts are in your name or tied to your personal bank account, plan to change them at the right moment, and not before the buyer is ready. Tell the buyer plainly about any program that will not transfer, and agree beforehand who carries that gap.

Key takeaways

  • List every program with account details and what its terms say.
  • Ask each partner what they need and how unpaid balances are handled.
  • Agree in advance who bears the cost of any program that will not move.
