Buying an existing barBURRITO

barBURRITO’s franchise page does not say whether it sells or brokers existing restaurants (read Oct 22, 2026), and the barBURRITO listings on Deavo are advertised by sellers or brokers, not placed by the franchisor. Whether barBURRITO must approve you, what fee it charges and what training it requires are questions for the franchise agreement and the franchisor.

barBURRITO is a trademark of its owner. Deavo is not affiliated with or endorsed by barBURRITO; the name identifies the businesses listed for sale. Figures are quoted from the franchisor’s own pages and are not verified by Deavo.

What barBURRITO says, and does not say

barBURRITO’s franchise page (read Oct 22, 2026) is written for new franchisees. It offers an application form, an information request and a Franchise Discovery Webinar, and lists site selection and lease negotiation, a comprehensive training program and a field support team among its offer. It makes no statement about existing restaurants, transfers or resales. Deavo had 6 barBURRITO listings on Oct 20, 2026, so resales are advertised here even though the franchisor’s page does not mention them.

The franchisor’s approval is a question to ask

A franchise agreement may make a transfer conditional on the franchisor’s consent. Whether barBURRITO’s does, and on what conditions, is in the agreement the seller signed, which you can ask the seller to show you. See who has to approve a franchise resale for how seller approval and franchisor approval work.

Questions to put to the seller and to barBURRITO

Ask what term remains on the franchise agreement and on the lease, whether a transfer fee is payable and how much, whether the buyer must complete training, whether the restaurant must be renovated to the current standard, and what royalty and advertising rates apply. barBURRITO’s page publishes none of these. See what a franchise transfer fee is, whether a resale buyer must retrain and whether a resale location must be renovated. Get the answers in writing from the seller and the franchisor, because the figures on a listing are the advertiser’s and the franchise disclosure document governs.

Disclosure before you sign

Ontario and Alberta have a franchise disclosure statute; Quebec has none. In Ontario and Alberta, where a franchise statute applies the prospective franchisee must receive the franchisor’s disclosure document at least 14 days before the earlier of signing any agreement relating to the franchise and paying any consideration relating to it. The statutes contain exemptions, including one for a sale by a franchisee for its own account that is not effected by or through the franchisor (Ontario s. 5(7)(a), Alberta s. 5(1)(a)), each with further conditions, so ask a franchise lawyer whether disclosure applies to your deal before you sign anything. See what disclosure a resale buyer gets.

The provinces and counts above come from Deavo’s listings on Oct 20, 2026; the advertised asking price on each card is the seller’s figure.
