How do I claim a listing for my business?
To claim a listing for your business on Deavo, find the listing, start the claim process, verify that you are the actual owner, and wait for Deavo to review and approve the claim before ownership transfers to your account. The whole process is free, and any buyer interest already on the listing carries over to you once it is claimed.
If a business already has an unclaimed listing on Deavo, taking it over is a short, defined process rather than something that requires starting from scratch. Here is what actually happens, step by step, from finding the listing to gaining full control of it.
Step one: find the listing
Search for your business by name, industry, or general location to check whether an unclaimed listing already exists for it. If one does, it will be clearly marked as unclaimed, showing the same general public information any listing shows, with identifying detail still gated the normal way.
Step two: start the claim
From the unclaimed listing, start the claim process, which begins collecting the information Deavo needs to confirm you are genuinely connected to the business, not just anyone who happened to find the page. This step is where you formally assert ownership rather than simply browsing.
Step three: verify your ownership
You will be asked to demonstrate a real connection to the business before the claim proceeds. This verification step exists specifically to stop a listing from being taken over by someone who has no actual right to control it, protecting both the real owner and anyone who had already expressed interest in it.
Step four: review and handover
A Deavo operator reviews the claim before approving it, and once approved, ownership of the listing transfers to your account. Any buyer interest that had already come in through the unclaimed listing carries forward, so you are not starting your buyer pipeline over from zero.
What you can do once it is yours
Once claimed, you have the same control over the listing as anyone who created one from scratch: edit the description, manage which photos are public or hidden, respond to buyer interest, and decide when to take the listing down. Claiming and managing it cost nothing, matching how the rest of the platform works.
