How do I find a naturopathic clinic for sale?
Naturopathic clinics come to market through business-for-sale listings, brokers who handle health practices, practitioner networks, multidisciplinary clinics and supplier reps. Many sell by word of mouth. Before you invest much time, confirm with the regulator and a lawyer whether you are allowed to own one.
Naturopathic clinics rarely stay on the market long, and many never reach a public listing. The practitioner often sells to a colleague, an associate or a neighbouring clinic. If you want to buy one, plan to look in several places at once, and be clear about whether you are a practitioner yourself, because that changes what you may own.
Public listings
Start with the business-for-sale sites, and search “naturopathic clinic”, “naturopathic practice” and “wellness clinic”. Descriptions are short and often leave out the details that matter, such as how many practitioners work there. Use a listing to start a conversation. Once you have a clinic in front of you, our page on what to check before buying a naturopathic clinic helps with the next step.
Brokers and practitioner networks
Some brokers handle health and wellness practices. Ask each one whom they act for and what they have sold. Practitioner associations, continuing-education events and study groups are another route, since colleagues hear about retirements first. Say plainly what you are looking for, and leave a way to reach you.
Multidisciplinary clinics and suppliers
Naturopaths often rent a room in a clinic with massage therapists, physiotherapists or acupuncturists, and the owner of that building may know of a practice for sale. Supplement and lab-testing reps visit many clinics too, and they can tell you who is cutting back. A friendly call is often enough.
Can you own it?
Who may own a naturopathic practice depends on the regulator and the form the business takes. Ask the regulator, and ask your lawyer, before you sign anything or pay for any reports. It is better to learn this at the start of a search than at the end of one.
