How do I find a STEM or kids coding franchise for sale in Canada?
Find a STEM or kids coding franchise for sale by asking franchisors which locations or territories are available to transfer, watching business-for-sale listings for enrichment schools, and approaching independent operators and after-school providers directly. Before you call, check that a listing shows enrolment by term, the instructor roster and the kit inventory.
A STEM or coding school teaches children robotics, programming and related skills, in a rented centre, in host schools after class, or at camps. Some belong to a franchise system and some are independent. Because the pool of resales is small, buyers usually work several routes at once: the brand, the listing sites and the operators themselves.
Ask the franchisors first
Most franchisors know which owners want out. Contact the brands you like and ask whether any existing locations or territories are available to transfer, and how the franchisor handles a resale. Some brands post available centres on their own site. Ask early whether the franchisor must approve you as a buyer, and what training it expects. Your lawyer can tell you whether a disclosure document applies.
Independent schools and after-school operators
Many enrichment programs are independent: a single centre, a mobile operator that runs clubs in rented school space, or a camp business. These rarely advertise. Search business-for-sale listings under several wordings, such as coding school, robotics academy, enrichment program and after-school provider. A short, confidential letter to an owner nearing retirement can also start a useful conversation.
What a listing should show
- Enrolment by term and age band, and how many families come back.
- The instructor roster, and whether the program relies on one founder.
- A kit and laptop inventory, with condition and age.
- Which sites the program runs in and who holds each booking.
- Who owns the curriculum and software accounts.
