Markets East Side Mario’s lists
The “Franchising Opportunities” section of the East Side Mario’s franchising page lists these markets (read Oct 22, 2026): in Ontario, St. Thomas, Kitchener, Waterdown, Owen Sound, Orangeville and Sault Ste. Marie; in Nova Scotia, Dartmouth; in Alberta, Edmonton; and in Saskatchewan, Saskatoon. Chatham, Ontario appears first with the label “SOLD” and “Opening 2027”. Under the list the page asks “Don’t See Your Market?” and says the franchisor is “always exploring new markets”. The page gives no sizes or prices for any market, and no date other than Chatham’s 2027 opening.
Beside Deavo’s listings
Deavo’s East Side Mario’s listings on Oct 20, 2026 were in Ontario (6). A listing on Deavo is an advertisement by a seller or broker, not a market the franchisor has opened for new franchisees, and the franchisor’s list is its own statement of where it is looking for franchise partners. A market on one list does not mean there is anything on the other.
Disclosure law by province
The markets span provinces with different franchise rules. Ontario’s Arthur Wishart Act (Franchise Disclosure), 2000, Alberta’s Franchises Act and Saskatchewan’s franchise disclosure statute each have a disclosure regime; Nova Scotia has no franchise-specific statute. Where one of those three Acts applies, the prospective franchisee must receive the disclosure document at least 14 days before the earlier of signing an agreement relating to the franchise and paying any consideration relating to it, subject to each Act’s exemptions and its treatment of deposits. Which province’s law applies, and whether an exemption fits, depends on the facts, so ask a franchise lawyer before signing. Recipe’s FAQ also says that, depending on the province or territory, an additional two-week franchise disclosure period may apply on top of its approval process.
Before you rely on a market
The franchisor’s list is a marketing page, not an offer. Ask the franchising team whether a market is still open, what format the site would be (a new build, a conversion or a non-traditional site), and whether territory protection applies; the franchise disclosure document and agreement are what bind the parties. See what financial requirements franchisors set for buyers.
