What Recipe publishes for Swiss Chalet

Swiss Chalet’s two figures come from Recipe’s franchise investments page, one table that sets each Recipe brand beside the others. Swiss Chalet appears among the “Full Service Concepts” at $1.6M - $3.0M in total investment, with $450,000 - $900,000 as the minimum cash contribution. Recipe supports new builds, conversions and non-traditional sites, and does not say which of them the Swiss Chalet range assumes. No initial fee, royalty, advertising rate, net worth or term was on the pages read, and the table on this page marks each one “Not published”. Recipe’s franchising FAQ, written for its brands generally, says royalty and advertising fund rates “may vary depending on the specific concept”; the Kelsey’s costs page goes through that FAQ in detail.

A network run by multi-restaurant operators

Swiss Chalet says it has “over 190 locations across Canada — in Ontario, Alberta, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island”, and that “over 50%” of its franchise network “is led by multi-restaurant franchise partners”. That is the franchisor’s own description of its system. If you are talking to the seller of a Swiss Chalet, ask whether the sale is of one restaurant or of several, and whether the others stay with the seller.

Training and support Swiss Chalet describes

The franchising page says that “once onboarded, franchisees participate in structured training, brand immersion sessions, and hands-on in-restaurant support before opening”, that each franchisee “is also assigned a dedicated Business Development Manager”, and that new operators are supported “through mentorship relationships with experienced franchisees” (read Oct 22, 2026). Swiss Chalet restaurants advertised for sale

Neither the Swiss Chalet page nor the Recipe pages read mention existing restaurants for sale. The listings below are advertisements Deavo has indexed — on Oct 20, 2026 they were in Ontario (3) — and an advertiser’s asking price is not a valuation. Ask whether the restaurant is franchised; if it is, the franchise agreement may give Recipe a say in the sale.
