A row marked “Not published” means the figure was not on the page we read — not that there is no such fee. Local area marketing is a further 1% of gross sales on the same page.

Possibly out of date. Foodtastic’s Freshii page tells Freshii’s story as of “less than 14 years” after its 2005 founding and prints no date on its franchise conditions, so these figures may not be current. Confirm them against the franchise disclosure document before relying on them.

What the figures include

The page labels one number a “projected build cost” and does not say what it contains, whether working capital or the franchise fee is counted in it, or whether it applies to a retrofit as well as a new build. It prints the capital and build-cost figures as two numbers side by side with no separator, which we read as a range. The page also gives no total investment and no net worth requirement. A resale’s asking price is set by whoever advertises it, and the projected build cost is the franchisor’s figure for building a location, not a guide to what a trading unit should cost. An asking price is what the advertiser wrote, not a valuation.

Royalty and advertising

The page states three percentages of gross sales: a royalty of 6%, a National Ad Fund of 2% and local area marketing of 1%. Gross sales is the franchisor’s term, and the page does not define it; ask for the definition in the franchise agreement. In Ontario, British Columbia and Manitoba, where disclosure applies, the franchisor must deliver a disclosure document at least 14 days before the earlier of your signing the franchise agreement or any other agreement relating to the franchise and your paying the franchisor or its associate any consideration relating to the franchise, subject to the exceptions in each Act. Ask for the document before relying on any figure here. See what disclosure a resale buyer gets.

Financing a Freshii purchase

The Freshii page names no lender and no programme. Can a franchise purchase be financed? covers routes such as the Canada Small Business Financing Program, BDC, a conventional lender and a vendor take-back.

What Freshii listings on Deavo ask

No asking-price figure is published for this brandDeavo lists 5 Freshii listings, 5 with an asking price, but fewer than 15 distinct resales remain once franchisor new-store openings and the same store advertised on several sites are set aside. Deavo publishes a figure only where at least 15 listings stand behind it. The listings themselves are on the Freshii brand page.

Published initial fees of other brands on Deavo

Each figure is the franchisor’s own published initial fee for Canada, read on the date its source records. Fees are one part of the cost; compare total investment and capital requirements on each brand’s own costs page. Foodtastic’s page for Freshii was read on Oct 22, 2026.

* Average, per the franchisor. Subway’s fee is quoted from its Canadian FAQ; Pizza Pizza’s from its franchising basics page; Boston Pizza’s is for its traditional format and is “plus applicable taxes”. Country Style’s cost answers were placeholder text when read and are not quoted.

About the Canadian Franchise Association listing

CFA’s directory has a Freshii listing but shows no member-since year, and that is not proof of non-membership. This page quotes the franchisor and takes nothing else from the directory, because directory figures can differ from a franchisor’s own page.
